CHUCK FORD JOINS MIKE KNOWLES PRO MOD TEAM

Mike Knowles, owner and driver of the 1963 "Blown Money" Corvette Pro Mod, is pleased to officially announce that two-time world champion tuner and former crew chief of the year recipient Chuck Ford has joined Knowles Racing taking on the responsibilities of crew chief and tuner. The agreement is exclusive to Knowles and his team.

"In a game that is won and lost by thousandths of a second, it's not enough to have all the best parts and be able to cut a light if you're hoping to win a championship. The Pro Mod class is way too competitive, and the new NHRA series is going to be fierce. You've got to stack as many cards in your favor as possible, and adding Chuck really sets us up for a championship run in 2010," Knowles said. "I'm ecstatic that Chuck has agreed to come on board exclusively with our team.

In addition to adding "Chuck Ford tuning" to his combination, Knowles said he is changing his entire setup to utilize all of Ford's proprietary advancements in blowers and engine modifications.

"We are really getting the whole package with Chuck. Not only do we get the benefit of all of his experience, development and research, but also his personality and character fits so well with our team. We're very family oriented, and strive to have integrity in everything we do on and off the track. Chuck is a dedicated husband and father, and a very welcome addition to our extended family here," Knowles added.

Ford will work along Mike and Jeff Strasburg from B&J Transmissions, who assist Knowles when they are not racing their Top Fuel Dragster.

"I'm sure Mike and Jeff will get to take advantage of some of Chuck's know-how, too, and they've both said how excited they are to have him as part of the team," he said.

The Knowles Racing Corvette will be based out of Ford's Grant, Alabama shop and will compete in all ten NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series events this season. The team is planning to begin testing within a week to prepare for the season opener, March 11-14 at the NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla.
