MUSI, DENSHAM BATTLING IN CLOSEST OF ALL WAR STORIES RACE

Gary Densham leads by a mere three votes in a battle that has see-sawed back and forth six times since Wednesday morning. The largest deficit has been a 14 vote lead by Densham last night at 8 PM. However, overnight voting has pulled the two closer together.

Gary Densham leads by a mere three votes in a battle that has see-sawed back and forth six times since Wednesday morning. The largest deficit has been a 14 vote lead by Densham last night at 8 PM. However, overnight voting has pulled the two closer together.

In the two previous War Stories Showdowns, two races have been determined by ten votes when the polls closed. Roy Hill defeated Shirley Muldowney in their 2007 first round meeting while last year’s champion John Force narrowly escaped Don Gillespie with a ten-point win in the first round.

On the other side of the ladder, Louis Force leads Gordie Bonin with 58.76 percent of the votes.

Voting ends today at 6 PM, EST.

The two winners will meet in the semis scheduled for next Wednesday, Jan. 14.

Bill Doner and Rickie Smith have already advanced to the semi-finals and will meet on Monday to determine the first final round participant.
