KCIR ANNOUNCES NEW T/D, T/S SERIES FOR 2010

A new chapter begins in the storied history of Kansas City International Raceway in 2010.  Top Sportsman and Top Dragster racers in the heartland of the country will now have a series dedicated to their classes with title sponsorship provided by Guy’s Snacks Corporation (www.guys-snacks.com).  Driskell Racing Engines and Straightline Motorsports will be presenting the six race series.

The series will feature both Top Sportsman and Top Dragster categories, qualifying and competing on separate ladders, with the winner of each class meeting in the final round for the overall champion.  Each race will be contested on an eighth mile format, with an attractive purse structure as well as numerous product contingencies and a season point’s fund.

Matt Driskell, owner of Driskell Enterprises (www.driskellent.com), former Super Comp World Champ and Top Dragster Division Champ, added “Driskell Racing engines is excited to be involved in this new series. We build many of the engines that will be competing in this series and this gives us an opportunity to have a series to showcase them. Being an engine builder and also a competitor having this series at KCIR will give us the chance to race with some of the best racers in the Midwest who race on a weekly basis.”

Rick Wilson of Straightline Motorsports was eager to help out.  “We are looking to grow our business and this presents a terrific opportunity.  We are thrilled to be a part of this series from its inception along with Guy’s Snacks and Matt Driskell."
