Glidden, a former NHRA Pro Stock racer and current Extreme 10.5 frontrunner, grabbed an 83.07 share of votes against former IHRA executive turned producer Ted Jones. His story tells about growing up a Glidden child and then meeting Indiana University basketball coach Bobby Knight.

On the other side of the “A” bracket, a close battle between the veteran promoter Bill Doner and nitro legend TV Tommy Ivo was a see-saw battle early. As of the last few hours, Doner has pulled ahead with a 58.18 share of the votes in their “race”.

Doner tells of his near bankrupt introduction to drag racing promotions while Ivo reveals his practical joker nature.

Voting in these single elimination races ends on Dec. 23. The winners of these matches will meet in the quarter-final round on Jan. 4, 2010.
