BILLY GLIDDEN LEADS FIRST DAY WAR STORIES QUALIFYING

CompPlus_WarStories_LogoSecond-generation drag racer Billy Glidden appears to have the same domination tendencies as his famous drag racing father following the first day of qualifying for the third annual CompetitionPlus.com War Stories Show, a month long competition to determine the best story teller in drag racing.

Glidden, who is participating in the competition for the first time, was taken aback by the commanding lead.

“I had better come up with some good stories to stay up there when eliminations begin,” said Glidden, who was working feverishly on his engines yesterday.

For the first two War Stories Showdown competitions, John Force was the No. 1 seed headed into final eliminations but since he won last season, the 14-time champion was not eligible for competition.

That didn’t stop another Force from picking up the family honor as Louis Force, stepped in and ranks second in qualifying.

“I don’t know how aggressive I will have to get with my first round story, but I’m not coming in there to lose,” added Force.

The balance of the top half of the field included last year’s runner-up Pat Musi, 2007 runner-up Roy Hill, Rickie Smith, “Waterbed” Fred Miller, Gary Densham and TV Tommy Ivo.

Qualifying ends on Friday, December 18 at 8 PM, est.

First round pairings will be announced on Friday, and the first round of eliminations will commence on Monday.
