In addition to Schumacher, other celebrities making appearances included actor Gary Sinise, comedian Dana Carvey, rapper Chamillionaire and pop star Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers.

“To be able to go to Fort Hood with my team was a moving experience to say the very least,” said Schumacher afterwards. “We had a chance to meet with a number of Army Strong Soldiers during the day and it was truly something to see how they’ve dealt with such a terrible tragedy.

“It’s very apparent the Fort Hood community has united in an effort to promote healing. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to help in that process. As I stated right after winning in Pomona, there was no question where the championship trophy should reside. Hopefully, we were able to put a smile on some faces during our visit. To be sure, our thoughts and prayers remain with everyone at Fort Hood.”
