BROGDON SEES A BRIGHT 2010

denever_pre_race_008Rodger Brogdon knew the start of the 2009 season would be a challenge. The Houston, Tex.-based Pro Stock driver was willing to make the sacrifices for a late season payoff.

Almost two weeks following the final race of the 2009 season, Brogdon is right where he wants to be, in contention for the 2010 championship.

“We’re excited by our performance since Indy and certainly looking forward to next year,” Brogdon said. “We’ve got a new Jerry Haas Pontiac coming and it’s a car that will include some Tommy Utt engineering. Tommy’s had some things he’s wanted to try chassis wise and with the new car being built specifically to fit me, we felt it was a perfect opportunity to put his ideas to work. Basically, if Tommy wants it, this car will have it.”

Brogdon scored round wins at six of the final seven events on the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing tour. The Charter/Attitude Apparel team outpaced four of the top ten point earning driver’s at the end of the season.

A strong enough performance to be motivated about his chances in 2010.

“We’ll be testing engines in December and the new car in January to get ready for the 2010 Full Throttle championship,” Brogdon said. “Days after the season ended and the guys were already asking when we’re going to test. The competitive spirit of this team never ends and I think everyone on the team knows what opportunities lay ahead next year.”

“With a new car and the chance to get in some off season testing as a team, I know we’ll be in the championship chase next year. With some of the rumored changes coming driver and team wise, it should be a very competitive year in Pro Stock.”

“Besides the race car, we’ve signed on as title sponsor of  CompetitionPlus.com and we’ll have some new focus with our Attitude Apparel line as well. Along with that, we’ll be introducing everyone to the benefits of ‘Performance Chipping’ (ask Larry Morgan). It’s going to be a busy off season and an even busier 2010, and I can’t wait.”
