DON SCHUMACHER BELIEVES FORCE FIXED ROUND

According to team owner Don Schumacher, he wasn’t surprised with the outcome of the Robert Hight versus John Force semi-final match at the NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis. In fact Schumacher was trying to give 100-to-1 odds on the starting line for anyone who would bet against his Robert Hight prediction.

“It was clear to me that Robert Hight was gonna win that round,” Schumacher said. “John is a good leaver, he's a good racer. How did he have a .200 plus reaction time? Isn't that strange? How did he all of a sudden drive the car to the wall? It just boggles my mind and everybody else can respond to that. Hopefully, NHRA will separate themselves from the most popular guy in the sport, John Force. And he's earned his popularity. And NHRA will take some action about it. Because it's wrong for our fans. And if our fans don't see integrity and racing, we're not gonna have fans out here.” According to team owner Don Schumacher, he wasn’t surprised with the outcome of the Robert Hight versus John Force semi-final match at the NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis. The NHRA sent their nitro liaison Don Olson over the John Force compound to check the run for any possibility improprieties. He couldn’t determine 100-percent conclusively if the race had been “thrown”.

“I only know what I saw on the starting line and what the time slips indicated,” Schumacher explained. “I'm sure Robert didn't have a .200 reaction time. And Robert's car went down the lane. John's car, for some reason, on only that run, dove towards the wall. It surprises me. Does it surprise you? And it should surprise NHRA. But it's obvious, I mean let's not kid each other, and John doesn't like me for my bluntness and my honesty. I think it's obvious to everybody what transpired there. And I'm sorry to say that. And that's what Tony Pedregon says. But Tony lived in that camp. He knows what went on inside that camp when he raced there. “
