LINE RACING STOCK IN BRAINERD

j_line.jpgAt this weekend’s Lucas Oil Nationals, Summit Racing Pontiac driver Jason Line will once again return to the site of the start of his NHRA drag racing career, Brainerd International Raceway.  This year, however, the talented Minnesotan will take this reunion one step further, as, in addition to his responsibilities with the KB Pro Stock Racing team, he will also climb behind the wheel of a 1980 K Stock Automatic Chevy Malibu owned and normally campaigned by Peter Boslovitch.  As Line explains, it was an opportunity to do a favor for a long-time friend. j_line.jpgAt this weekend’s Lucas Oil Nationals, Summit Racing Pontiac driver Jason Line will once again return to the site of the start of his NHRA drag racing career, Brainerd International Raceway.

“I bought my first Stocker from Peter many years ago,” said Line.  “Unfortunately, just after the Norwalk race, he found out he had cancer.   As he will not be able to race the car in Brainerd this weekend due to his health, he asked me to drive in his place.  Once the folks at Summit gave me their approval, I told him I would be honored.

“Although it certainly should be fun, you have to keep in mind that I haven’t driven a Stocker or foot braked a car in at least eight years, which could prove to be rather comical.  Still, I’m happy to drive Peter’s car for him, and who knows, maybe we’ll get lucky and go a few rounds.”

Sportsman qualifying is scheduled to get underway on Thursday morning in Brainerd, while Line’s first appearance in his Summit Racing Pontiac is set for Friday afternoon at 2:45 p.m.
