The rain stopped about three hours later and the NHRA had dried the track and planned for a 1 p.m. start. Cars were called to the lanes and race officials conducted an abbreviated pre-race ceremony. The skies opened up moments before the rescheduled start and rain completely soaked the track.

The latest word is that we are likely 45 minutes away from a 3:00 EST start time.
