UPDATED: BOBBY MONACELLI PASSES

R2B2 Racing is saddened at the loss of teammate and friend Bobby Monacelli who passed away at work this morning after suffering monacelli.jpgcardiac arrest. His father, Clem Monacelli, his sister Mary Beth, and his nephews, Nicholas and Timothy survive the 48-year-old who had recently relocated to Duluth, Ga. to work with the R2B2 Racing team. Bobby joined the team in November of last year and worked on both Roger Burgess and Melanie Troxel's Pro Mods after most recently having worked with Pro Mod driver Ed Hoover.

UPDATED: 8-12-2009 - FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS SET -Services celebrating the life of "Bobby" Robert John Monacelli have been scheduled for Friday in his hometown of Plymouth Meeting, Penn. He passed away Monday morning after suffering cardiac arrest.

Bobby was an integral part of the team at  R2B2 Racing in Duluth, Ga., a job which gave him great pride, working with Pro Mod drivers Roger Burgess, Raymond Commisso and Melanie Troxel. He is remembered by his friends as always having a smile on his face, an encouraging word to share, and a willing spirit to accomplish anything, and he will be greatly missed.
 
A visitation and wake are scheduled from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Epiphany of Our Lord Church at 3050 Walton Road in Plymouth Meeting, Penn., and a mass will follow.
 
Bobby is survived by his father, Clem Monacelli, his sister, Mary Beth, and his nephews, Nicholas and Timothy. The family has requested that anyone wishing to remember Bobby do so with a contribution to the American Heart Association in Bobby's memory. (www.americanheart.org)

Funeral and service arrangements are pending and will be conducted in his hometown of Plymouth Meeting, Penn., outside of Philadelphia.
