Phil Schmidt of Orangeville, California set a new Nitro Harley record of 6.667 at 212.41 miles per hour.

The previous record of 7.063 was set by Joe Timmons in 2005.

“We love coming here. The crowd is excellent. It is one of the most fun venues,” said Schmidt.

“I have been running this Nitro Harley for 3 years. It is 100% Nitro Methane. It pushes 900 miles per hour and 1,000 foot pounds of torque,” said Schmidt.

“I am calm and focused when I get on the Harley. When I launch it feels awesome,” he said.

Tony Palo took home the win for Rocky Mountain Raceways first annual $10,000 MFactory Shooutout. This shootout included some of the west’s fastest front wheel drive sport compacts.
