MIKE BOS RACING.COM EVENT PROVIDES FINAL TUNE-UP FOR JUNIOR DRAGSTER EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS

Several Junior Dragster competitors arrived in Thunder Valley last weekend to take advantage of extra track time during the Mike Bos Racing.com Jr. Dragster Nationals. A number of drivers celebrated Independence Day in Winner’s Circle, while all racers gained extra passes over those who were not in attendance.

The exciting new Thunder Valley 330’ was designed to pit the fastest racers against each other for bragging rights. The event came down to a battle between T.J. Tindle of Santa Rosa, Fla. and Evan Wilson of Kokomo, Ind.

Tindle used a stellar .009 reaction time against his opponent’s .047 R.T. Tindle also completed his jaunt to the 330’ mark in 4.321 seconds, compared to Wilson’s 4.352 elapsed time.

West Virginia’s Josh Camp claimed the 7.90 Index victory after a .036 R.T. and a pass just .005 sec. off of the Index. His competition, Andrew Whitman of York, Pa., ran a 7.931 E.T. after a .084 R.T.

Brody Quick of Hanceville, Ala. earned the 8.90 Index win over Drew Hostetter of Crawfordville, Fla. after Hostetter ran faster than the Index. Hostetter left the line with a .020 R.T., but ran an 8.858 E.T. to earn the disqualification. Quick was slow off the line with a .163 R.T., but Hostetter’s break-out handed him the win.

Cardino Fornataro took home the 10.90 Index over Hannah Bouldry of Sarasota, Fla. The Newark, Ohio native used a .059 R.T. and 11.369 E.T. to send Bouldry packing. Bouldry ran an 11.482 E.T. after a .064 light.

Gage Burch from Palmetto, Fla. earned the 12.90 Index over Madeline Culbert of Hanover, Pa.

The event was held in advance of the July 6-11 NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Finals.

More than 600 junior dragster racers from NHRA Divisions 1, 2 and 3, and select tracks in Division 4, will compete in the 2009 Jr. Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Finals.  Each NHRA member track may send up to three teams of 10 racers to participate in the race. Team members earn points for their home track, with the top scoring team winning the conference final.

Individual winners in each of the eight age categories—8-9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16-17— receive a $5,000 savings bond and the “Wally” trophy. Each member of the top scoring team will receive a $300 savings bond and a Wally.
