STOTT ENJOYS BETTER START IN 2009

What a difference a year can make. After struggling through 2008, in what would easily be considered his toughest season in two quain_stott.JPGdecades, Quain Stott is back in the groove that led him to much of the success he has enjoyed during his career. After spending most of 2008 in a research and development mode, Stott is back to his winning ways - as both a driver and a tuner.

"I was just being hard-headed," Stott admits about the 2008 season. "The stuff we had figured out on paper should have made the car faster. It just wouldn't work in racing conditions."

The revelation that had Stott removing thousands of dollars parts and more man hours than he would care to admit to, turned his LeeBoy Equipment team around late last season when he won the first race of the ADRL season (ADRL begins their season with a race at the end of the calendar year in Dallas).

Since that time, Stott has compiled an impressive 11-3 (.786 winning percentage) record in the past 4 events, including 1 win and 1 runner-up. The Ford Drive One Summer Drags V in Martin has been postponed for rain. Stott enjoyed a #2 qualifying position and has already won the opening round (this event will be concluded in Topeka). The 1963 LeeBoy Equipment Pro Extreme Corvette is currently second in ADRL points with six races yet to be decided.

While the LeeBoy Equipment Corvette has enjoyed success so far this season, Stott is proving that he can change hats and tune also. Quain has taken the responsibility of tuning Tim Tindle's Pro Mod Mustang. Quain has tuned the Tindle-Enterprises Inc. Mustang to wins in both NHRA (Topeka) and IHRA (Rockingham). Tindle is currently 7th in Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge and 6th in IHRA Nitro Jam points.

"We're having fun again," Stott said from his North Carolina race shop. "Racing is such a fickle roller coaster ride. We're going to enjoy it while we can."
