BURKART DRIVES NOSTALGIA FLOPPER TO WINNER'S CIRCLE

After winning his first race as the driver of "Nitro" Nick Boninfante's "U.S. Male" nitro nostalgia Funny Car last month at Englishtown, N.J., driver Phil Burkart won again Saturday night at New England Dragway's "Funny Cars Under The Stars" setting both ends of the nostalgia Funny Car track record in the process.

After winning his first race as the driver of "Nitro" Nick Boninfante's "U.S. Male" nitro nostalgia Funny Car last month at Englishtown, N.J., driver Phil Burkart won again Saturday night at New England Dragway's "Funny Cars Under The Stars" setting both ends of the nostalgia Funny Car track record in the process. 
 
Burkart ran a 5.95 second elapsed time at 245 mph in the opening round and cranked out a track record 5.82 at 247 mph in the final round to defeat Jake Crimmins' "Crazzzy Jake" Mustang.
 
Since his debut in the car Burkart has not lost a round of competition and has made it to the finish line under power on every run.
 
The next appearance for the "U.S. Male" will be at this Saturday night's "Night Of Fire" at Maple Grove Dragway, Reading, Pa.
