PEDREGON RUNNING NITROFISH

Tony Pedregon’s Impala Funny Car will have a new look for the United Association NHRA SuperNationals, June 12-14, at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, N.J.

The two-time NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series Funny Car champion is teaming with Nitro Fish Wear owner Kenny Koretsky for this event, and it includes a very colorful paint scheme for Pedregon’s race car.

“We are happy to be working with Tony as an associate sponsor this year and proud to be the primary sponsor on the car for this race,” said Koretsky, of Richboro, Pa.  “I’ve always considered Englishtown one of my two home tracks, and we wanted to give the great fans here a good show.  Tony has a great team.  They win races and championships.  He won last Sunday at Joliet (Ill.).”

“This is a great opportunity for us to team up with Kenny,” said Pedregon.  “I respect his experience in the sport as an owner and racer.  Besides developing a friendship, we are leveraging his Nitro Fish brand with our racing program.  It’s very exciting to take his brand and tie it in with my partners – Quaker State, Snap-on Tools and Herzog.

“I’ve always paid attention to detail and always believed that NHRA has a great product.  Racing is not just about speed, horsepower and entertainment, it’s about color.  And I think that over the years I’ve had very successful paint schemes on my cars, but I have to say this is going to be one of the brightest we’ve ever done.  I think our fans will love it.

“The car will be unveiled for Friday’s first qualifying session Friday afternoon.”

Pedregon’s teammates will be Dave Northrop, driver of Koretsky’s Nitro Fish Wear/ISC Racers Tape/

ISC Salesmaster Corp. Pontiac GXP; Matt Smith, currently third in Pro Stock Motorcycle points on the Don Schumacher Racing Suzuki; Pro Stock driver Johnny Gray, and Ray Fordyce, who is driving Kyle Koretsky’s (Kenny’s son) Super Comp dragster.

“Johnny is driving one of our team cars for this race because he was having problems with his,” added Koretsky.
