ROCKY MOUNTAIN RACEWAYS’ JET CAR SPRING NATIONALS WILL LIGHT UP THE SKY

According to Ron Craft, Drag Strip Manager for Rocky Mountain Raceways, the Jet Car Spring Nationals is an amazing motorsports spectacle with some of the fastest racing on the drag strip.

“I am expecting large car counts, fantastic weather and a great show for spectators,” said Craft.

With Jet Car racers from all over the United States and Canada coming to Rocky Mountain Raceways, the jet-powered dragsters will run more than 250 miles per hour on the drag strip.

According to Ron Craft, Drag Strip Manager for Rocky Mountain Raceways, the Jet Car Spring Nationals is an amazing motorsports spectacle with some of the fastest racing on the drag strip.

“I am expecting large car counts, fantastic weather and a great show for spectators,” said Craft.

With Jet Car racers from all over the United States and Canada coming to Rocky Mountain Raceways, the jet-powered dragsters will run more than 250 miles per hour on the drag strip.

The Nitro Top Fuel class is for front engine dragsters that can travel down the quarter mile drag strip in about five seconds. The West Coast Top Sportsman class can clear the quarter mile in about seven seconds.

Ed (The Outlaw) Jones will be racing his stagecoach racer down the 1/4 mile on his back two wheels.

“It is pretty amazing how this car’s front wheels come off the asphalt and he accelerates down the drag strip in about 10 seconds,” said Craft.

“Crowds love the Jet Cars, Nitro Top Fuels and Wheelstanders. This is a show that people really need to see,” added Craft.

The Jet Car Spring National event is a prelude event to Rocky Mountain Raceways IHRA Nitro Nationals on June 26-27.

There will also be a special local match for Top Alcohol Dragsters. Competitors will be attempting to seize the Top Alcohol Dragster record from Mike Strasburg. Strasburg, set the record at 5.572 ET in 2001.

In addition to feature cars, Rocky Mountain Raceways will also be hosting their Summit Super Series. Classes include Rocky Mountain Raceways Top Sportsman and Top Dragster.

Junior Dragsters will also be invited to this event based on semi-final and final finishes from previous events. These 8 to 17 year-old drivers are excited to race in front of the large Jet Car Spring Nationals crowd.

Gates for the Jet Car Spring Nationals will open at 12:00 p.m. Feature cars will be at 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Adult Admission is $20 and youth admission (ages 5 to12) is $10.

In its thirteenth year, Rocky Mountain Raceways also hosts oval racing, motocross racing, monster trucks and drifting.
