Uncle Harry, brother of Diane Cartee, CompetitionPlus.com office manager, and uncle of publisher/editor Bobby Bennett, passed away this morning after a brief illness. He was four days shy of his 76th birthday.

Uncle Harry worked for 30 years as the circulation director for the Spartanburg Herald Journal, a New York Times-owned publication. He watched from the sidelines with pride as CompetitionPlus.com grew from a fledgling internet magazine to a heavily read and respected source for solid drag racing information. He understood the internet represented the coming age of journalism.

Uncle Harry was a Korean War veteran having served aboard the SS Weiss.

CompetitionPlus.com will miss you Uncle Harry and you’ll always be our honorary circulation director. We’ll always thank God for blessing us with you as part of our supporting cast.
