BILLES SOLID IN TUNING ROLE

R2B2 Racing crew chief, Al Billes, has guided the powerful duo of Roger Burgess and Raymond Commisso to a spectacular start of the season, and this weekend, Billes returns to the scene of his second Pro Mod Challenge win, back in May of 2004, hoping his success as a driver will equate to fortune as a tuner. The team is set to compete in the Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge presented by ProCare Rx at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals.

With Billes calling the shots, Roger Burgess, the most recent Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge winner, has qualified no lower than second in the three races this season. He has improved on his personal-best marks nearly every race, setting his bar at 5.900 seconds and 246.44 m.p.h. Burgess is currently third in championship points, less than two round-wins out of first.

"There's no doubt we've got a great team, and everyone contributes in such a large way," Burgess said. "The win in St. Louis was so well deserved by all of the guys, and now, coming into Bristol, we're really hoping to put another of our cars into the winner's circle."

Raymond Commisso has likewise seen huge benefits from the prowess of Billes. The Toronto restaurateur set the mark as the quickest ever in legal trim, blasting out a 5.884-second pass with near perfect conditions in Houston. Although performance in his '68 Camaro has lacked consistency, Commisso is determined to find the pesky gremlins that have been haunting him of late.

Commisso said, "Sometimes you just get something little in a car that causes problems, and that's really what we've dealt with this year. We've had some extreme moments, and we're looking for more as we move forward. Al is just incredible at what he does, and Roger has given us an amazing team to work with.

"I love coming to Bristol because the track is amazing, and the fans are some of the best in the country. Weather permitting, it'll be a great weekend in Tennessee!" he said.
