The winners of the CompetitionPlus.com Decade of Thrills Thunder Valley Nationals ticket giveaway have been determined.

Gary Gibson, an expedited freight deliverer from Franklin, N.C., was the grand prize winner. The 181th entrant in the giveaway, Gibson and his family will receive two pairs of Full Event Thunder Valley Nationals tickets as well as admission into the prestigious Thunder Valley Club hospitality. He will also receive additional prizes.

“I certainly wasn’t expecting this,” Gibson said Friday when notified of the win. “I’ve been a CompetitionPlus.com reader for about as long as it’s been on the Internet. I read it every day and when I saw the contest, I figured I would sign up. I figured I didn’t have much to lose.”

A former bracket racer, Gibson and his family regularly attend the NHRA Southern Nationals in Commerce, Ga., and the NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis. He always wanted to attend the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals but the event always got pushed out of the budget.

“This is the first time in 20 years,” Gibson said. “I really want to thank CompetitionPlus.com and Bristol Dragway for making this possible.”

Jack Matyas, a licensed Stock eliminator racer and auto dealer from Bethlehem, Pa., and Deborah Rowland, a self-employed housecleaner from Salisbury, N.C., were the two runner-ups to Gibson. They will receive a pair of full event tickets to the event as well as various other prizes.
