FEEDBACK FRIDAY - THE ALMOST BOYCOTT
FEEDBACK ARTICLE
– THE ALMOST BOYCOTT
I wish the teams that
didn't make the countdown would sit out the rest of the year. Maybe that would
wake up NHRA. I hate this countdown B.S. Hate it, Hate it, Hate it!
If only 6 or 8 teams showed
up for the last 2 races I would love it. I'm so sick and tired of turning on
ESPN to watch the races and sitting thru 3 hours of John Force/Gary Scelzi
interviews. ESPN wake up! Show the damn cars. All of them. - Mike Greene
For years the John Force
infection continues to get worse. Pro Stock takes the same media beating that
Connie is getting now. Connie should take a long look in the mirror, he has
always wanted Pro Stock coverage cut down. He is officially on the wrong side
of the fence. If John hugs Ashley it has to be on TV. It is pathetic. That is
one reason I no longer attend NHRA National Events. If you look at the ADRL the
show is 1 Million percent better. I hope Evan buys IHRA the races will have a
place to race where it is not the JFR show. Great article. - Scott Chamberlain
I'm glad that the Kalitta
cars will be at the last two races, but I would understand the business
decision to not go, by them or anyone else not in the countdown.
The only thing good about
ESPN's coverage is Mike Dunn, and I'd rather see him in a car. The ESPN/ABC crowd knows nothing of racing
and don't seem to care. If there is not
controversy, they'll try to start one, because that's interesting to them. The race fan wants to see racing and have the
car sponsors get the coverage they are paying for, not the same tired, terrible
POWERADE ones. Take this sport to the next level by not playing copy cat to
NASCAR, Drag Racing doesn't need that. It needs to have lots of Good race
coverage. - Al Coloman
Welcome to my world Jim.
Now maybe you have an appreciation for what guys like me, Scott Palmer, Alan
Hartley and many others have been going through for years on end. All of us
can't get exposure if we set the national record and win the race. They still
interview the others and ask them how they feel about losing. I brought some
sponsors to the table over the years and the powers that be not only didn't
step up the coverage, they met with them and tried to convince them to spend
their money on sponsoring an event as opposed to sponsoring our team. Try that
one on for size and see how you like it. The best one was when I took an
immense, public company, long term deal to the table and they told the sponsor
they should go with a team of their choosing. I could go on for hours but for
what? - Bill Ancona
