The breaks didn't seem to be falling for Kyle Larson in Wednesday night's Aspen Dental Eldora Dirt Derby at Eldora Speedway.

Larson spun out while leading the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event and was subsequently penalized for what NASCAR considered to be an intentional spin to bring out the caution.

Larson, who last won a NCWTS event back in 2013, spent 20 laps running a lap behind the leaders. But Larson, the 2014 Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year, maneuvered his way back to the front to take the win over defending race-winner Christopher Bell, who finished in second place.

The Elk Grove, California-native admits the win has great significance because of his prior two defeats  in the truck series at Eldora.

"It means a lot, especially losing the way I did the other two years I ran," Larson told TV reporters in victory lane. "Thanks to everybody on this GMS Racing team, DC Solar for coming onboard for this. This is very special for them. I knew running a blue 24 I had to run hard here at Eldora, Rico (Abreu) does a really good job in the sprint car of that.

"I'm just enjoying it. I love to be back here on dirt. (Track owner and operator) Tony (Stewart) had the track amazing. I been bugging him for three years to get this thing with some moisture in it and he did, and it was fun."

Bobby Pierce, who led 102 laps, opened up the door for Larson's victory after apparent clutch issues seemed to bother the dirt track ringer. Pierce eventually made hard contact with the wall attempting to run down the No. 24 DC Solar Chevrolet of Kyle Larson and sealed his fate, he would only manage a 25th place finish.

Larson's fellow dirt track wiz Rico Abreu finished in third place despite lacking track position for majority of the race.

Jake Griffin finished in fourth place followed by Tyler Reddick, Cole Custer, Cameron Hayler, Daniel Hemric, Austin Wayne Self and Matt Crafton. The truck series is back in action Saturday, June 30th at Pocono Raceway.
