In the final results from the AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals and the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series at Texas Motorplex, Leah Pritchett, Redlands, Calif., and Kevin Skinner, Grove City, Ohio, both worked their way through the field to meet up in the final round and a winner take all for the SAM Factory Stock Showdown World Championship.
Pritchett and Skinner had a close start of the line with Skinner in the lead at the 300-foot mark until his car made a quick move allowing Pritchett to go around and pull away for the win and the championship. Pritchett had a late charge in the season making this her 3rd consecutive win in the SAM Factory Stock Showdown.

In the final results from Silver Dollar Raceway and the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, former Lucas Oil World Champion Craig Bourgeois and reigning Super Gas World Champion John Labbous led the list of winners in the winner’s circle celebration.
Bourgeois qualified No. 1 then posted the victory over Jim Kimbrough in Comp Eliminator. Bourgeois was out first then pulled away to a 6.890 second lap at 180.57 mph to Kimbrough’s 7.379, 177.79 out of the No. 3 spot.
Labbous used a .004 second reaction time to jump out in front of Rusty Cook in a battle of Corvettes. Labbous went 9.943, 159.99 in his ’63 to oust Cook and his ’99 Corvette at 9.956, 154.32.

Andy Manson topped the qualifying order in VP Racing Fuels Street Outlaw with his ’96 Mustang when the man from Manassas, Virginia, cruised the eighth-mile in 4.281 at 175.64 mph. Manson maintained his momentum through to the finals where he met with Alton Clements of Central, South Carolina. Both men left the line hard, but Clements in his newly-acquired ’92 Mustang got the hole shot win on a 4.342 at 167.28 mph blast over Manson’s 4.333 at 169.47 mph effort to capture the NMRA Victor trophy. It wasn’t moot for Manson, though, as he was crowned the champion for 2018.

In the final results from the AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals and the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, David Rampy claimed victory and took home is his 99th NHRA national event win this weekend at Gateway Motorsports Park.
Rampy, Piedmont, Ala., worked his way through the field and ran 7.240 seconds at 166.13 mph in his final round victory over Allen Wilson, Kokomo, Ind., who clocked in at 8.238 seconds, 163.75 mph. Wilson took the starting line advantage off the line but could not hold off Rampy, giving Rampy win number 99 at the national level.
The Factory Stock Showdown record took a beating on Saturday at the NHRA Midwest Nationals outside of St. Louis, and not surprisingly it was the two-car Don Schumacher Racing team blistering the mark.
Mark Pawuk nailed the mark in the final qualifying session with a 7.929 elapsed time.
