FEEDBACK FRIDAY – BOBBY BENNETT: IS FORD POISED TO TAKE OVER PRO STOCK?

FEEDBACK ARTICLE – BOBBY BENNETT: IS FORD POISED TO TAKE OVER PRO STOCK?

It is my sincere hope that a Pro Stock Ford will shake up the class, it gets boring to see one brand always win. Good luck to Ford in Pro Stock. - Jeff Kammes

It would be refreshing to see Fords capable of competing against the current dominant PS teams.

It's no secret that the large corporate backing makes these cars competitive. In light of the nation’s current economic downturn (recession) I'm surprised any of the big three will be spending money on motorsports. However, should one of them emerge triumphant, let it be the Big Blue Oval. - Duane Landers

I find it very hard to believe the most publicized and pictorial Pro Stock
Mustang in drag racing cannot receive any factory support. Robert Patrick has many career achievements in drag racing from IHRA event wins with record setting ET and MPH performances, ADRL & Fun Ford wins, and to finish in 2007 as IHRA World Champion. I believe if the Advertisement Board Members of Ford Racing, were informed of all REP Racing accomplishments and had an sitdown with Robert to see his passion for racing, they would be eager to support REP Racing engine's program for the NHRA series. - Charles Johnson

I understand Briane Wolfe's position on factory backed Pro-Stock and I agree with the way they are proceeding with updated parts. Give the teams state of the art heads, bodies and blocks and let their own ingenuity take over. There was a time when Pro Stock was flooded with Cleveland powered Pinto's and Mustang II's with no factory backing. If you have a good motor, you have most of the puzzle. - Ed Eaken

I'll believe when I see it happen. I have been waiting for years for Ford to step up and give Bob Glidden and his sons back the sponsorship they so duly deserve for carrying on the Ford history in Pro Stock. Instead they wasted it on extra Funny Cars and other crap for John Force Racing. Bob Glidden and his sons can do more with less than anybody in professional drag racing because they work harder. He didn't get the name MAD DOG for nothing! Thanks for hearing me
Out. - Richard Arbiso.

How funny Ford steps up now when the General is leaving. Wonder what Mr. Bob Glidden’s saying? I’ll say the same thing I said before "American car companies don’t get it". Winning races DOESN’T sell cars! The Camry has kicked ass for years and it’s never won a drag race and until last year never won a stock car race. How much in sales does the General have to show for a zillion manufactures titles? Aren’t the seats empty when the Pro Stock cookie cutters run? Yes I’m sure this pro stock venture will drive up sales and the $4 stocks too! Way to go Ford. Jumping in as the competition is jumping off.  I will say good luck to Erica she seem pretty cool. - Rick Rzepka
