International Motorsports Hall of Famer and drag racing legend, Don “The Snake” Prudhomme, roars back to the desert with three of the most significant, original and restored funny cars in drag racing history during the 46th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction at WestWorld in Scottsdale, AZ (January 14-22).
 
Hand-picked from his personal collection of top fuel dragsters and funny cars located at his facility in Vista, CA, Prudhomme is presenting the following three iconic funny cars to bidders, both on-line and in attendance:
 
All three Snake Racing funny cars are scheduled to take the stage and presented to bidders on Saturday, January 21, 2017.
 
•  1972 PLYMOUTH BARRACUDA MATTEL HOT WHEELS "SNAKE II" FUNNY CAR - (lot #1345) - Don "The Snake" Prudhomme's famous funny car from the popular 1970s "Snake vs. Mongoose" match racing promotion. In addition to each of the funny cars being displayed throughout the event, both Prudhomme and current 16-time NHRA national event winning driver Tommy Johnson Jr., who drove the 2007 Skoal Impala SS for Snake Racing, will be on-site throughout the weekend to sign autographs and meet fans in attendance.  
 
Prudhomme, 75, enjoyed a career in drag racing spanning five decades and induction into several motorsports halls-of-fame, including the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in Talladega, AL.  His 47-year career saw him behind the wheel for 32 seasons before he retired from driving at the end of his 1994 “Final Strike” campaign.  He then transitioned to the role of team owner where he led his teams and drivers for an additional 15 seasons.  Overall, Prudhomme totaled an impressive combination of six NHRA World Championships and 112 national event victories.  For more information on Don Prudhomme Snake Racing, visit www.snakeracing.com
