Gene Hector took a scary ride on Sunday afternoon during the rain-delayed PDRA Texas Nationals at the Texas Motorplex. Hector's 2014 Corvette drifted outside of the groove, and made an abrupt turn left into the retaining wall where the car burst into flames. The mangled race car slid on its roof to a stop in the shutdown area where Hector emerged uninjured. The intensity of the crash was captured by CPTV videographer Les Mayhew.
