PDRA-LOGO1The Professional Drag Racers Association has made it clear that it is here to stay. A successful inaugural season is nearly complete and already excitement is building for 2015.

Notable changes from the 2014 schedule include an additional two events, for a total of ten races, and five new tracks joining the PDRA team. The PDRA will visit some of the nation’s best markets for eighth-mile door car racing, including Maryland International Raceway and Texas Motorplex, as well as a stop at the completely overhauled GALOT Motorsports Park. The PDRA plans to continue their Friday/Saturday event format.

The sophomore tour will begin at Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Tx. March 20-21. April 10-12 the PDRA will return to Rockingham Dragway, home to some of the most memorable moments in professional eighth-mile racing. After this the PDRA heads west during the first weekend of May to Thunder Road Raceway in Shreveport, La. The final weekend in May will see a stop at Gateway Raceway in St. Louis, Mo. The tour will then reach its halfway point on June 26-27 at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Mich.

Budds Creek, Md. has often been regarded as one of the top doorslammer facilities in the country. The PDRA will bring their unique brand of eighth-mile action to Maryland International Raceway, July 17-18. Then the tour will make its second annual stop at Memphis International Raceway on August 21-22. One of the highlights of the tour, Dragstock, will be featured at the reconstructed GALOT Motorsports Park on its familiar date of September 11-13. From there the PDRA returns to one of the nation’s fastest growing facilities - Tulsa Raceway Park on October 2-3. The sophomore tour will conclude as the inaugural tour did, at Virginia Motorsports Park near Richmond, Va. on October 23-24.

“We worked hard to produce a schedule that would benefit our teams, sponsors and fans, as well as each of the tracks we will visit,” said PDRA Race Director, Bob Harris. “We look forward to visiting new tracks and welcome back many of the places we visited this year. I believe this schedule is just what we need to continue moving forward as the world’s premier eighth-mile drag racing organization.”

Also in the works, a new points structure to be unveiled later this year. Stay tuned towww.pdra660.comfor all the details and Live Feed of the upcoming PDRA Finals at Virginia Motorsports Park, along with the completion of Dragstock XI, October 9-11.
