The 2nd Annual Fonse Performance Dyno Wars presented by K&S Race Cars takes place January 18, 2014.  This year’s event will feature 12 of the most powerful street cars and trucks from the Philadelphia area with the winner taking home $1,000. Over $2,500 worth of prizes will be handed out by the end of the day.  

This year’s event will feature a slight twist as all of the competitors will have to prove their vehicles are both registered and insured to show they are in fact street worthy.   Just because they are street cars doesn’t mean they are going to be down on power.  Over half of the field is expect to make over 1,000 horsepower to the rear wheels and the winner is expected to put down upwards of 1,500 horsepower!

The field is also much diversified, being made up of 5 Fords, 3 Chevrolets, 2 Dodges, 1 Toyota and 1 BMW.  Many of the competitors are relying on turbochargers to make big horsepower but there will be 2 cars utilizing nitrous and the 2 Dodge trucks will be representing the diesel crowd.  

Dyno Wars co-creator Alfonse Magliocco Jr. stated, “We wanted to give the racing crowd something to do in the off-season.  It’s been brutally cold this winter and this gives people a good reason to leave their house and get their horsepower fix.”

Even if you don’t have a car in this year’s competition, fans will still be able to participate and take home some cash and other prizes.  Dyno Wars will feature many “guess the horsepower” contests along with practice tree races and other various games.  Plus Fonse Performance will demonstrate a live engine dyno pull along with a flow bench demonstration.  Live music by the band In Between will take place after the awards presentation.  

Dyno Wars is open to the public and is also a free event.  The competition starts at 9:00 AM and takes place at Fonse Performance 1042 Kearsley Road, Erial, NJ 08081.
