WILL TO BE FEATURED SPEAKER

Hillary Will, who will begin her second season for KB Racing LLC in February, will be the featured speaker at the third annual Automotive Education Day, presented by State Farm Insurance, which takes place Wed., Jan. 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as part of the 2007 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) at Cobo Center in Detroit.

Over 5,600 students interested in careers in the automotive industry, including motorsports, from various school groups throughout Michigan, surrounding states, and Windsor, Canada are expected to attend.  The 2007 Automotive Education Day will feature an autograph session and an opportunity to talk racing and career goals with Will, who finished No. 10 in the 2006 NHRA POWERade Top Fuel point standings behind the wheel of the KB Racing LLC-owned, Kalitta Motorsports-managed Top Fuel dragster.

"I am honored that the Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA) asked me to be the guest speaker at their annual Automotive Education Day in Cobo Arena," Will said.  “I will encourage the students to choose a career that is meaningful to them.  I will emphasize that there is a lot of opportunity within the racing and automotive industry.  I truly hope that what I say will inspire the students to be dedicated, to get a good education, and to have confidence in their ability to achieve goals they set out to accomplish."

In addition to spending time with Will, Automotive Education Day will provide students in grades 8 through 12 with the opportunity to have informal discussions with industry experts about alternative fuel technology, design, engineering and other diverse automotive careers.  The day will also offer plenty of time to visit the NAIAS show floor.

“We are excited to provide another great opportunity for young people to experience the excitement of the automotive industry and its products,” said Robert Thibodeau Jr., 2007 senior co-chairman.  “Automotive Education Day offers a rare window into the automotive world.  Featuring celebrities like Hillary Will and providing one-on-one conversations with many industry insiders, we hope to entice students to learn more about the variety of career paths available within this dynamic industry.”

Entering its 19th year as an international event, the NAIAS is among the most prestigious auto shows in the world and is one of the largest media events in North America.  The NAIAS website can be accessed at http:/www.naias.com.  The NAIAS is open to the public from Sat., Jan 13 through Sun., Jan 21.
