MIKE ASHLEY RETURNING TO RACE IN 2011?

Word has it from a highly placed source the ADRL plans to return to Memphis Motorsports Park in mid-May. We are told an announcement is forthcoming very soon.

CLAY MILLICAN HAS A NEW DEAL?

A reliable source has confirmed with CompetitionPlus.com presented by Attitude Apparel that Top Fuel racer Clay Millican and the MPE Motorsports team are expected to announce a multi-year major sponsor tomorrow. From what we hear, the deal will be a 12-race marketing partnership in 2011 with full seasons planned in 2012 and 2013. The first race is expected to be next weekend's NHRA Gatornationals.

JEFF AREND TO RACE AT BAKERSFIELD

WILKERSON RESIGNS PRO BOARD POSITION

According to a source close to the Professional Racers Organization [PRO], board member and Nitro Funny Car racer Tim Wilkerson has resigned his position. There's no real reason why Wilkerson left floating around the rumor mill but one can only wonder if he's decided to concentrate more on his racing and less on the politics of the sport.

RUMORS OF T-PED FOR 2011

Word floating around the nitro community is that three-time NHRA Funny Car series champion Tony Pedregon will race in 2011 but to what level remains to be seen. T-Ped is remaining tight-lipped about his plans to the media. Along with the same rumor of his participation is another suggesting Jimmy Walsh will be his tuner.

BECKMAN TO RACE IN 2011 WITH AARON'S AND VALVOLINE?

After much speculation as to whether Jack Beckman will compete in Nitro Funny Car during the 2011 season, a solid source close to Don Schumacher Racing has told CompetitionPlus.com presenting by Attitude Apparel that he will indeed be back and with a new part-time major sponsor to join Valvoline.

Word has it a major rental company, Aaron’s [formerly Aaron's Rents], will be aboard with Beckman for at least 12 races as a major backer. According to our source, Aaron’s will also be on Antron Brown’s dragster for an undisclosed amount of races.
