Chris Hollingworth will be the first to tell
you that his entrance to the Top Alcohol ranks has so far gone pretty much the
way he imagined it would. With a new car, new team, and two years of experience
as a crew member on Ben Bray’s championship-winning Funny Car, he knew that the
learning curve would be daunting.

Big Daddy" Don Garlits, number-one
drag racer of all time, will bring Swamp Rat VIII to the Southern Nostalgia
Shootout at South Georgia Motorsports Park, October 27-29. Garlits will be
making smoky blasts (restricted by safety rules to less than one-eighth mile)
and participating in the Cacklefest event on Saturday night.  

Come and see Big Daddy on track and meet him in the pit area. Come
and see how drag racing was in the past.

The NHRA POWERade Drag Racing
Series Awards Ceremony will be held at The Westin Mission Hills Resort in Rancho
Mirage, Calif., on Monday, Nov. 13, 2006.

Normally the “Night of Fire” at
eMax Drag Racing Series events is closed with a fire works display. Not so in
Epping, as the IHRA has decided to try something new. A laser light show was
used as a preamble to Bob Motz’s jet truck and was greeted by a sound ovation
from the fans..

Bruce Litton is still a patient at
Massachusetts General in Boston following his accident on Sunday. The Top Fuel
driver from Indianapolis underwent surgery on his shoulder Monday and is
expected to stay two more days as doctors ponder whether or not to perform a
skin graft on the gash to his right arm.

Litton is extremely sore but in good spirits despite a cracked
bone in his elbow and the effects of a concussion. He could be released as early
as Wednesday.

Fulfilling a commitment he made in
mid-June, Mach 1 Air Services Top Fuel driver David Baca will honor the victims
of 9/11 with two very special helmet presentations Sunday morning at Maple Grove
Raceway.

The biggest event in Outlaw Pro
Mod racing just keeps getting bigger, with this weekend's American Drag Racing
League Eastern Race Fuels DRAGSTOCK III event expected to outshine its two
predecessors in terms of both car count and attendance.

Remember that dreadful day in
September 2001 when the United States was attacked by cowardly terrorists?

families who suffered a loss.
