KYLE CULTRERA’S INSPIRED NORWALK EXPERIENCE

sc_finalSportsman drag racer Kyle Cultrera believed winning was the only option for him as he competed in last weekend’s Super Comp competition at the NHRA Summit Nationals. The only issue for Cultrera; he’d never won a national event before.

He defeated John Taylor to score his first on Sunday afternoon.

Cultrera, the son of Jeg Coughlin Jr. crewman and past Modified/Competition eliminator ace Steve Cultrera, was en route from his shop in Elliot, Maine to the Norwalk, Ohio-based event when he received a phone call notifying him that friend/team co-owner Dave Macleod had lost his battle with prostate cancer.

THE NEWEST NESS CREATION

Don Ness was as proud as he could be walking through the pits at Summit Raceway Park in Norwalk, Ohio. He was more than willing to show off his latest creation to anyone who would take the time to look.

Ness, a veteran chassis builder known for his prowess in building Pro Stockers, no longer has a race car to showcase. He’s now in the wheelie bar business and firmly believes his carbon fiber model could become the greatest thing since sliced bread for this area of the race car.

Ness believes the carbon fiber bars, coupled with the billet hardware creates a unit that is up to 40-percent stronger, while weighing in at 30 pounds lighter.
