The third annual Street Car Super Nationals -- also known as "Anarchy at the Arch" -- are under way at Gateway Motorsports Park.  Pro Mod qualifying is in the record books and the fastest men on the property are Frankie Taylor (Flying A Outlaw Pro Mod) and Terry "The Captain" Barkley (Precision Turbo Pro Nitrous vs. Pro Boost).
 
Surprise entry Justin "Big Chief" Shearer of Street Outlaws TV show fame planned to test his car on Monday and attempt to qualify for his NHRA Pro Mod license. Once licensed, Shearer plans to enter the NHRA Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis next weekend. Shearer, using this event to shake down his car, qualified in ninth position in the Precision Turbo Pro Nitrous vs. Pro Boost class at 4.359 sec., 170.08 mph.
 
Sidnei Frigo of Sao Paulo, Brazil, chose this event to return to racing after suffering a broken arm and other injuries in a horrific crash in April in Texas. Frigo's brand-new car qualified in fifth place in the Precision Turbo Pro Nitrous vs. Pro Boost class at 3.910 sec., 194.86 mph.
 
Spectator gates will open Saturday at 11 a.m. with final NDRL and VNSS qualifying sessions at noon.
 
Adult spectator admission is $25, teens ages 13-19 are $10 and kids 12 and under are free. Spectator gates will open on Saturday at 11 a.m. with racing at noon.
