SCAG TO BECOME SPONSOR OF PRO SUPERSTAR SHOOTOUT

Scag Power Equipment has announced its sponsorship of the inaugural PRO Superstar Shootout set to take place from February 8-10, 2024. The event, held at Bradenton Motorsports Park, will feature racers competing in Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Pro Stock, with a prize pool totaling over $1.3 million.

Alan Johnson, President of the Professional Racers Owners Organization (PRO), expressed his excitement about the partnership.

“We couldn’t ask for a better partner to join us as we host the inaugural PRO Superstar Shootout,” Johnson said. “Randy Gloede and the Scag Power Equipment team have become huge supporters of drag racing over the last couple of years. It means a lot to all of us that they believe in what we’re trying to do with the PRO Superstar Shootout.”

Scag Power Equipment, a manufacturer of commercial and residential lawn mowers and debris/turf management equipment, has a product line that has expanded to encompass over 50 models. Proudly manufactured in the United States, Scag equipment is distributed through a network of more than 1,500 independent dealers nationwide.

Randy Gloede, President and CEO of Metalcraft of Mayville, Scag Power Equipment’s parent company, emphasized the company’s dedication to its dealers.

“Everything we do at Scag is for our dealers,” Gloede said. “We want to take any opportunity we have to show our dealers how much we appreciate them making the choice to have Scag in their stores.”

The PRO Superstar Shootout will feature an invited group of its members in the Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Pro Stock categories at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Florida. The event will see $250,000 awarded to the winners of Top Fuel and Funny Car, while Pro Stock contenders will race for a $125,000 prize. The total prize money for the event is set to exceed $1.3 million.

The race is by invitation only, and teams will have four qualifying sessions to secure a spot in the eight-car fields for Top Fuel and Funny Car and the 16-car field for Pro Stock. Pairings for eliminations will be determined through random chip draws.

Wes Buck, promoter of the PRO Superstar Shootout, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership.

“The team at Scag shares our vision for the sport of drag racing, and their hands-on, highly involved approach to their business and their customers sets a great example for all of us,” Buck said. “Our collective goal is to create a unique experience for our fans, racers, and partners.”

The Scag Power Equipment PRO Superstar Shootout will kick off with a qualifying session under the lights on Thursday, February 8, followed by three more qualifying sessions on Friday, February 9. The event will conclude with eliminations taking place on Saturday, February 10.
