Sportsman qualifying was completed Thursday at the NHRA Winternationals at the In-N-Out Dragstrip in Pomona, CA. 

Steve Graham (Competition), Fred Moreno (Super Stock), and Richie Pauley (Stock) headlined the top divisions after three sessions. 

Graham drove his B/Altered Camaro to the top spot, running a 6.920 elapsed time that was -.730 under the index. Coming in a distant second was the E/Super Mod Automatic Cavalier, which was -.656 under with an 8.284. Ryan Priddy was third with a -.626 hit against the A/Altered Automatic index. 

Pomona hometown favorite Moreno had his classic Mustang at the head of the pack. He ran 9.596 seconds, -.954 under the Super Stock/G Automatic index. Len Schneider continued the Ford performance parade with a 9.863, -0.937 under the GT/GA standard. Larry McLanahan's 2019 Mustang was third with an 8.266, -0.934, FSS/B run. 

 

 

 

Pauley's C/Stock Automatic 1968 Mustang was the standard of Stock with a -0.988, 10.412. Steve Wann's classic Mopar broke up the Blue Oval brigade siege with a 9.726, -0.974, AA/Stock Automatic. Darrick Ellam's W/Stock Automatic Pinto was third with a 15.705, -0.945 performance. 
 
Other top performances included Kelly Harper (Top Sportsman, 6.440, 223.43) and James Warden (Top Dragster, 6.105, 228.58).

The Super classes got in two rounds of competition, and from that, Jason Rosenbaum (Super Comp) and John Dalrymple (Super Gas) emerged as the quickest against their indexes.
