FIRST-TIME WINNER SAURO HEADLINES PDRA DARLINGTON WINNERS

Pro Nitrous driver Danny Sauro raced to his first Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) victory Saturday night at the PDRA Fall Nationals at Darlington Dragway. Sauro defeated Tommy Franklin, the defending world champion in Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous presented by MoTeC, setting a n

ew Pro Nitrous world record in the process.

Also picking up PDRA 660 Man trophies in the professional classes were Tommy D’Aprile in Moroso Pro Boost, Steven Boone in Liberty’s Gears Extreme Pro Stock, Brunson Grothus in Drag 965 Pro Extreme Motorcycle, and Jordan Ensslin in East Side Auto Transport Pro Outlaw 632.

The Fall Nationals champions in the PDRA’s sportsman categories are Donny Urban in MagnaFuel Elite Top Sportsman, Chris Nyerges in Top Sportsman 32, Chaz Silance in Lucas Oil Elite Top Dragster, and Angela Gantkowski in Top Dragster 32.

In Coolshirt Pro Jr. Dragster, Cameryn Hawkins earned her first PDRA victory when she won on a double breakout over Nicole Zuccarelli, with Hawkins’ 7.89 beating Zuccarelli’s 7.86. Zach Shirkey picked up the win in Gilbert Motorsports Top Jr. Dragster, running 8.969 on an 8.96 dial-in over Brooke Miller’s 7.995 on a 7.94 dial-in.

The Edelbrock Bracket Bash win went to Noah Johnson, whose .003 reaction time and 4.76 on a 4.73 dial-in defeated Mike Reavis and his 4.953 on a 4.95 dial-in.
