NHRA officials have announced that Top Fuel driver Tony Schumacher has been fined $20,000 for failing to follow the commands of NHRA Chief Starter Rick Stewart during Saturday’s final qualifying attempt at the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals.


NHRA officials have announced that Top Fuel driver Tony Schumacher has been fined $20,000 for failing to follow the commands of NHRA Chief Starter Rick Stewart during Saturday’s final qualifying attempt at the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals.

“We consider this a very serious infraction, as all racers and teams are required to strictly follow the commands of the chief starter and other NHRA officials on the starting line,” said Graham Light, NHRA senior vice president of racing operations. “We want today’s focus to be on crowning three NHRA POWERade Series world champions after their season-long efforts. We look forward to an exciting day.”
