Billy Glidden’s plans aren’t concrete for 2009 but that’s not going to deter him from planning for the future.
“If I can come up with the funding to continue racing throughout the season then I will do it,” Glidden said. “We’ll keep picking at our performance to get better with what we have, but it’s going to be tough.”

It’s not been for a lack of effort on the second generation drag racer’s behalf that he hasn’t attained a major sponsorship at this point.
He’s had contact with potential sponsors both domestic and foreign, including a trip to Qatar to visit Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Thani.
Glidden says any such banter regarding a sponsorship from the Al-Anabi organization is strictly rumor at this time.
Reportedly the group has made very clear their desire to hire Glidden’s father Bob, a ten-time NHRA Pro Stock team, to serve as a consultant for one of the Al Anabi Pro Nitrous teams.
Such a move would come with a price according to sources. To get dad, Al-Anabi would have to sponsor the son.
That’s where the stalemate stands.
“I’m not talking about any details because that remains our business,” Glidden added.
