The Ken Black Pro Stock team sponsored by Summit Racing Equipment will field a third car during at the least the NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis. This car is designed to be a team research and development entity and will be supported by the Wilson Manifolds team and driven by IHRA Pro Stock standout Rob Mansfield.

The third Pontiac Pro Stocker will carry the Summit Racing Equipment livery. The car will be campaigned by KB’s induction specialists Wilson Manifolds of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with who they've enjoyed an exclusive arrangement since the team’s inception.

The primary reason for bringing out the third team was to bring extra testing data to the already potent team. According to a source Wilson’s owner Keith Wilson and KB’s Jason Line speak on a daily basis and in these conversations, they’ve together developed new products that cannot be tested without drawing from the time and attention devoted to chasing a championship with the primary cars driven by Greg Anderson and Line.

Mansfield is no rookie driver having driven for Dingman Racing in the high-speed 6.2-second IHRA mountain motor competition for the last four years.

Mansfield also serves as manager of Wilson’s sheet metal division where he resides in the secretive world of Pro Stock and Funny Car induction designs.  He also oversees Wilson’s interests in NASCAR and in a dozen other acing series.
