A member of our drag racing family is ailing at this time. IHRA Hot Rod (10.90) racer Steve Corker is in a Raleigh, North Carolina hospital suffering from what doctors call as a bacteria infection in his lungs. The preliminary diagnosis was pneumonia.

Steve has been hospitalized for almost a week now. He is feeling better today and x-rays are improving, but the surgeon is not pleased with the slowness of the recovery. His initial fear is damage to the lungs that could transpire the longer the bacteria remains. He is scheduled for surgery today at 2 PM to remove the bacteria.
