ACDelco Cobalt racer Kurt Johnson is a regular contributor to the Powershift XM radio show, calling in every Tuesday prior to a POWERade Drag Racing Series national event to offer his perspective on the goings-on in the highly competitive Pro Stock category.

However, when Johnson joins Joe Castello and NHRA announcer Alan Reinhart on the show tonight at 9:00 p.m. (Eastern), as part of “NHRA Tuesday”, his appearance will be in a different capacity, namely that of a race winner, having taken home the Pro Stock title at this past weekend’s O’Reilly Midwest NHRA Nationals in Madison, IL.  This was Johnson’s first win of the 2008 season, 37th of his career and third at Gateway International Raceway, breaking a tie with his father Warren Johnson and Ron Krisher for the most by a Pro Stock competitor at the Madison quarter-mile.

Hosted by Joe Castello with sidekick Tommy Noodles, Powershift is a two-hour show covering all forms of motorsports, featuring a lively blend of interviews, commentary and audience interaction.  Powershift airs weeknights at 8:00 p.m. (Eastern) on the XM Sports Nation channel 144.
