BERNER MATCH RACING MORAN AT MARTIN

DSA_5144.jpgFour long weekends stretch between the second and third IHRA National Events. Many racers are using this time to test, some are attending other events, and a few are just bidding the time between races. This weekend Pete Berner is taking full advantage of his time off. The Quarter-Max.com machine is headed to Knoll Gas Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan for the National City Thunder Nationals Saturday, May 10th.

When given the invitation to attend the Thunder Nationals for a match race, Berner eagerly accepted. "The Knoll Gas Motorsports Park is a top-notch facility, and the Petersons [who manage the complex] make it a pleasure to race there," states Berner. "I'm excited to visit the facility, and I always enjoy the competition of a match race. We've had a couple weekends off now and it's time to get back to the track."

The Quarter-Max.com Pontiac GXP will test at Knoll Gas Motorsports Park on Thursday and Friday before the event. Berner will face tough competition from Mike Moran's turbo-charged Pro Mod during Saturday's event. The Thunder Nationals will also feature fields in Pro Modified, Alcohol Funny Car and Alcohol Dragster as well as exhibition cars, including the Super Shockwave jet pickup truck. Pro qualifying starts at 4pm with eliminations at 7pm and 10pm. For more information on the National City Thunder Nationals visit www.knollgasmotorsportspark.com

Looking to gather as much information as possible and always gain every possible competitive advantage, the Quarter-Max.com team will also be testing a new Kaase engine tonight at Route 66 Raceway. As Berner puts it, "We're going to run the wheels off of this thing."
