ADRL EMBRACES INTERNET FOR DEBUT OF 'ADRENALINE: THE SERIES'

Today at noon (EST), the Flowmaster American Drag Racing League (ADRL) presented by the National Guard will debut Adrenaline: The Series, an hour-long online video show dedicated exclusively to highlighting ADRL events, teams and drivers. The new, all-ADRL show will be hosted at www.DragRacingOnline.com.

“The ADRL has made its name by going its own way. From eighth-mile racing to two-day national events to taking the shackles off and letting the racers run with very limited rules, the ADRL has never been afraid to break the mold and give the fans what they want,” ADRL President Kenny Nowling stated. “The ADRL’s fans want something different. They prove that over and over again at our events and now we’re bringing a whole new style of event coverage to them with ADRLTV Online and Adrenaline: The Series.”

ADRL fans will never have to wait for a brief mention of their favorite racers on a general motorsports news program, or tune in at an odd hour, or suffer having their scheduled shows pre-empted by an overly long stick-and-ball event—they can get their shot of Adrenaline: The Series whenever and wherever they like. “Almost everyone has an Internet connection that will allow them to view our shows at the time that’s most convenient for them,” said Jeff Fortune, ADRL executive vice president and a three-time Emmy award winner for his work on Motor Sports Weekly. “Now, that’s not to say we won’t be releasing Adrenaline: The Series on traditional broadcast and cable television at some point this year. In fact, we are exploring several opportunities to make that happen, but we’re taking our time to execute the best deal for our racers, our fans and our sponsors.”

Each episode of Adrenaline: The Series will feature on-track action from the latest ADRL national events, round-by-round commentary by drag racing hall-of-famer Ted Jones, with Nowling himself adding the color and trackside reporting by famed drag racing journalist and historian Bret Kepner. Additionally, past shows, drivers and events will be showcased, along with driver interviews and behind-the-scenes features on current ADRL teams.

“With ADRLTV Online, we feel we can deliver the best coverage to the greatest number of our fans, plus it’s more convenient for everyone,” said Fortune. “I’ve spent the last 20 years producing motor sports programming and I can tell you, drag racing is as tough to cover as anything out there. That’s why, just like our racing classes, we’ve removed the restrictions so our performance is unlimited.”

In order to reach as many drag racing fans as possible, the ADRL has entered into an agreement with Racing Net Source, publisher of DragRacingOnline.com, to exclusively broadcast Adrenaline: The Series on the Internet for the rest of this year.

“There is no question in my mind that with its unique ticket distribution program the ADRL has introduced more new fans to drag racing over the past couple of seasons than any other sanctioning body,” said Jeff Burk, editor and publisher of DragRacingOnline.com.

Adrenaline: The Series premiers May 2, at noon Eastern Standard Time at www.DragRacingOnline.com.
