Before heading to Atlanta to compete in the sixth race of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Funny Car driver Bob Tasca III made a stop in Dearborn, Mich. to participate in Ford Customer Service Division’s “Bring Your Child To Work Day” activities.

“I was really excited when FCSD asked me to be a part of this day,” said Tasca. “One of the best things of being an NHRA driver is talking with kids at and away from the track about the sport.”

The driver of the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center Shelby Mustang spent the day answering questions from kids ages five to twelve, speaking to them about the sport of drag racing and the safety involved in the sport.

“Today was really a neat day for me, because I was able to share my passion with these kids, which is racing,” said Tasca. “The questions they asked, even the ones from the really young kids, were really impressive. They asked about horsepower and speed, my background as a driver, and even attendance figures at the races. It was just a fun way for me to kickoff the weekend of racing.”

Tasca, a father of three boys under the age of six, also spent time posing for pictures and autographing posters for the over 100 children that attended the event. The rookie driver enters this weekend's race at Atlanta Dragway, 12th in the points.
