G2 MOTORSPORTS AND WYOTECH TEAM UP FOR HORSEPOWER TV EPISODE

The building of the “WyoTech Road Burner,” a 10-second (1/4-mile elapsed time), state-of-the-art custom motorcycle by WyoTech students under the direction of G2 Motorsports, will be documented during this weekend’s edition of “Horsepower TV,” one of RTM Productions four “PowerBlock” shows, which air every Saturday and Sunday on the SPIKE television network.

The motorcycle, which carries a unique paint scheme to complement its unique street-legal performance characteristics, will spend the next several months on a national tour and will be awarded in December to the winner of the HORSEPOWER ROAD BURNER BIKE SWEEPSTAKES (tour information and entry form at: http://www.powerblocktv.com/roadburner).

George Bryce and Derek Churchwell of G2 Motorsports provided the insight and instruction for students and alumni of WyoTech’s Sacramento, Calif., and Daytona, Fla., motorcycle technology programs. These students assembled this motorcycle at RTM’s studios here around a 126-cubic-inch, 150-horsepower S&S Cycle V-Twin engine, exclusively distributed by G2 Motorsports (www.g2motorsports.net).  S&S Cycle also provided the high-performance clutch and six-speed transmission. The frame (68-inch wheelbase), fabrication and custom machine work and assembly were provided by G2 Motorsports, while forks and fenders are by Pailoli, wheels by Marchesini, rear tire by Mickey Thompson and brakes by Brembo (320mm dual disc).  The high-performance exhaust system was provided by Rush Racing Products.

In addition to the WyoTech Road Burner which cannot be purchased, G2 Motorsports will create a limited-edition of 50 STX-V Twin motorcycles based on this design for discerning customers.

G2 Motorsports crafts custom, performance-oriented motorcycles for both the street and track around the proven performance parts of S&S Cycle.  In addition, the Americus, Ga., firm fields a NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle team – the G2 Motorsports/Drag Specialties/S&S Cycle V-Twin ridden by Chris Rivas and it supplies products and support to all of the private-teams campaigning V-Twins in this premier drag-racing series.

Named the two Georges – founding owners George Smith and George Bryce – G2 Motorsports was initially formed in 2003 as a collaborative effort between the pair to field an S&S Cycle powered V-Twin NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle. The company has since evolved into the development of late-model hot rod V-Twins for both the street and strip. G2 Motorsports also stocks a full line of S&S Cycle engines and support parts for drag racing enthusiasts, as well as for other motorcyclists, dealers and distributors.

WyoTech, originally known as Wyoming Technical Institute and now composed of seven campuses across the country, is dedicated to college-level, career-oriented education in the automotive, diesel, motorcycle, aviation, HVAC, watercraft and collision/refurbishing industries.
