MIRAMONTE RECORDS NHRA PRO BIKE BATTLE SLATED FOR THIS WEEKEND IN SONOMA

 

psmEddie Krawiec will lead the inaugural MiraMonte Records NHRA Pro Bike Battle field as the No. 1 seed when the lucrative special event takes center stage July 26 during the 27th annual NHRA Sonoma Nationals at Sonoma Raceway.       

A purse of $61,000 is available for the eight Pro Stock Motorcycle riders competing in the MiraMonte Records NHRA Pro Bike Battle. The winner of the MiraMonte Records NHRA Pro Bike Battle will earn $25,000. The runner-up will earn $10,000, the two semifinalists $6,000 each, and the four first-round finishers $3,500 apiece.

Krawiec, from Indianapolis, qualified No. 1 at five of the eight NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events where riders could earn MiraMonte Records NHRA Pro Bike Battle points.

The $69,000 MiraMonte Records NHRA Pro Bike Battle showcases the eight quickest Pro Stock Motorcycle teams in a race-within-a-race bonus event. The teams qualified for the bonus event during qualifying at eight NHRA Mello Yello Series events, from the 2014 Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals at Auto-Plus Raceway at Gainesville in Florida to the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals at Bandimere Speedway near Denver.

Besides the $61,000 available in the MiraMonte Records NHRA Pro Bike Battle, bonuses of $8,000 were paid to the top Pro Stock Motorcycle qualifiers throughout the eight-race qualifying process, including $1,000 to the No. 1 qualifier at each race.

Top qualifier Krawiec will race Scotty Pollacheck in the first round, while Hector Arana Jr. will face his father, Hector Arana Sr. Third seed Andrew Hines will meet John Hall, while Matt Smith will race Michael Ray in the opener.

MiraMonte Records NHRA Pro Bike Battle elimination rounds are scheduled for 12:45 p.m., 3:15 p.m. and 4:40 p.m. on July 26. The bonus race will be televised on ESPN.
