“I’m just going to be updating my license because it expired last year,” Force Hood said in a phone interview with CompetitionPlus.com Monday morning. “Obviously, I was pregnant so I couldn’t do anything about it. I’m going to be making some runs Monday after Vegas because we will be there testing anyway.”

The national event at The Strip is March 28-30 in Vegas.

Force Hood also was quick to mention to not read much into what she’s doing Monday.

“I just want my license to be current again, but is with no plans to compete,” Force Hood said. “It is kind of more just ever if one of our drivers broke their leg or something at least my license would be up to date, so if they needed to I could help them.”

Force Hood isn’t certain what John Force Racing Funny Car she will be piloting at Vegas.

“I think I’m running Courtney’s car,” she said. “My husband (Dan Hood, assistant crew chief) helps run that car and I think that’s the car I’m running, but I don’t know if all of our cars are testing or just a few of them. Sometimes it kind of depends on how the weekend goes. It is kind of one of those things when you have your license you want to keep it updated. I worked hard to get the license so I just want to keep it current. Also, if they ever needed anything, I could be helpful to the team, but there are no plans for me to compete or anything like that. I have two babies and it would be too hard right now to go back into competition because of how intense it is.”

Force Hood and her husband have two children, boys Jacob 2, and Noah, 10 months. She is the President for John Force Entertainment in Yorba Linda, Calif.

“My schedule works a little easier than the racing schedule and I can take care of my kids,” Force Hood said. “I raced on the NHRA circuit for nine years in the different categories I was in and to finally have a break from my suitcase and put it away was nice. Of course I still love going to the races and I really love bringing my kids to the races and my son Jacob loves drag racing. He’s so excited to go this weekend (in Las Vegas).”
