PRESTOLITE ADDS 2011 FORD MUSTANG TO GIVEAWAY

Prestolite Performance, a performance auto parts manufacturer for brands including ACCEL, Hays, Lakewood, Mr. Gasket, Mallory and QuickTime Inc., has recently purchased the new 2011 Ford Mustang for the Modern Muscle X campaign and car giveaway and is developing products compatible with this latest model.

The new 2011 Mustang will replace the current 2010 model in the MMX lineup, which currently includes the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro and the 2010 Dodge Challenger. New products customized for the 2011 Mustang have also been developed and will reach store shelves by the end of August.

“Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge are in the midst of the strongest muscle car war since the 1960s,” said Scott Stutler, product manager for Prestolite Performance. “The 2011 Ford Mustang is a strong player and we’re excited to add this car to the MMX campaign.”

Prestolite Performance’s Lakewood line is currently announcing four new products designed for the 2011 Mustang including control arm relocation brackets, torque box brace, rear sway bar end links and subframe connectors.

The control arm relocation brackets lower the mount location on the axle to help plant the rear tires while the torque box brace supports the factory control arm mount and surrounding floor pan to prevent damage from increased horsepower and traction.

Made of billet aluminum, the rear sway bar end links eliminate the flex inherent in the Mustang’s original equipment design, improve stability and allow the car to react more consistently. Finally, Lakewood’s subframe connectors provide a firm foundation to maximize the performance potential of suspension tuning.

“When Prestolite Performance first purchased the 2011 Mustang, we realized that some of the new products we had developed were not compatible. The new addition challenged our MMX team to enhance our product offerings,” said Stutler. “The end result has been extremely positive, as Prestolite Performance’s Lakewood line can now be the first to offer these new products for the 2011 Mustang to customers.”

Look for the 2011 Mustang, complete with new product enhancements, on the road at the NMRA World Finals in Bowling Green, Ky., from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3.
