BERNER, BERTSCH MATCH RACING AT NORWALK’S N.U.F.

bernerSummit Motorsports Park’s ‘Night Under Fire’ has been aptly called the Greatest Show on Earth.  With eight Nitro Funny Cars, jet dragsters, a jet semi, a wheel stander and a brilliant fireworks show, it just may top the big top. Certainly for drag racing fans there’s no contest. This year two Mountain Motor Pro Stock cars will be added to the mix. Pete Berner will bring his Summit Racing Equipment GXP to take on Bob Bertsch in a best two out of three match race exhibition.

The two Pro Stock teams will be on hand not only to give doorslammer fans something to cheer for at the Night Under Fire but also to advertise for the upcoming Summit Racing Equipment ADRL Ohio Drags IV to be held at Summit Motorsports Park on Sept 24-25.

Since the first Ohio Drags in 2007, fans have flocked to Summit Motorsports Park to watch the insane eighth mile action. Now the thousands of Night Under Fire fans will get a little taste of the action.

“This event should be a lot of fun,” Berner relayed. “The Baders really know how to put on a great show and the ‘Night Under Fire’ is one of their best. I feel very fortunate to represent Summit and the ADRL at such a prestigious event. We’ll be on hand to let everyone know about the ADRL event coming up there in September. The ADRL is a doorslammer fan’s dream, and we’ll be handing out lots of free tickets.

“Racing against Bob Bertsch should be a lot of fun,” Berner continued. “We have a friendly rivalry going and it will be exciting to play that out in front of thousands of fans.  And while I’m there I may even have to partake in some of that dollar ice cream!”

Berner has seen much success at Summit Motorsports Park over the years. He won the last IHRA National Event there over Tony Gillig in a rain delayed final, helping to secure the 2006 Championship. Berner also won the Sunoco Pro Stock Shootout in 2004 and was runner up in that event in 2003. He’ll certainly be hoping to continue that success while participating in the ‘Night Under Fire’ and in Extreme Pro Stock at the Summit Racing Equipment ADRL Ohio Drags IV.
