“We are delighted to have Hawaya Racing on board as the sponsor of our Pro Drag class,” said AHDRA’s Craig Tharpe. “The AHDRA Pro Drag class is the carbureted, high gear, nitro class that most people consider our “entry level” class of nitro racing-if there is such a thing. Johnny brings a level of experience to our organization that promises to help us level the playing field in Pro Drag and promote more competition and safety in this exciting class. While Johnny and his team at Hawaya Racing are experts in Top Fuel, Pro Fuel and Pro Drag motorcycle construction and tuning, Johnny is an accomplished Pro Drag rider himself (1993 AHDRA P/D Champion) and has mentored many riders through the learning curve of competition and on to become champions themselves. We are going to work hard to make this partnership beneficial to both of our organizations. I think it’s the perfect match.

“We moved 850 miles from Louisiana to North Carolina for a reason,” added Vickers. “Our mission is to continue to advance the sport that we love, Harley Drag racing. It’s tough in today’s economy. You can be reactive or you can be proactive. We choose to do the latter. We intend to do this by getting more involved in the nuts and bolts of our sport as well as continuing to develop and provide products to enable our sport to be safer and more economical. With 2010 being our 25th year in the business, I think it is a perfect time to join forces with the AHDRA. We are just getting started!”

Hawaya racing will have their support vehicles and expertise at AHDRA events for the 2010 Screamin’ Eagle Championship Series.
